GROOVESPEAK (2007)
Produced by The Jason Raso Trio

Jason Raso - bass and upright bass
Enio DiReto - drums
Rob Hannam - keyboard

Recorded live at Manhattan's (Guelph, Ontario) March 29th and June 21st, 2007.
"Words are inadequate to describe the communication between a band and the audience.  When a band soaks up the energy of an audience, and the audience grooves on what they hear, the result is magic. On their debut live album, The Jason Raso Trio is busy gettin’ to the makin’ of magic.  The trio, absorbing a number of musical influences from jazz masters, to funk trailblazers, to rock gods, has emerged with a sophisticated, funky style. These three individuals Jason Raso, Rob Hannam and Enio DiReto, have banded together, to further a common end, which is ear ecstasy in a perfect groove."

Appropriately titled Detour, Raso's third disc comes after a three year journey filled with twists and turns. "Jason Raso's bass is a full-on orchestra of ground vibrating pleasure"

Exclaim Magazine

Jason Raso is a Canadian bassist, whose latest album we are presenting. Detour describes the on the go "working bassist" and teacher with a collection of very personal work; the liner-notes on the inside of the booklet testify to a very long-term creative process with many moments of madness and divergences before Detour was able to be released. Out of it comes a predominately instrumental release featuring jazz-fusion tracks like "Mo' Minor Blues". Even a subtle big band influence can be found on "Bonnie and Stella". Furthermore, it is the great bass pieces like "Wednesday Afternoon" that make this album very much worth listening to. Raso incorporates Modulus, Spector and Azola basses. The playing is strong throughout Detour and offers diverse bass playing techniques.

LIVE ON PLANET BOP (2002)
Produced by Jason Raso, John Harrison, and Jamie Niven

Live On Planet Bop was recorded in 2002 and features six live tracks as well as five studio tracks.  This cd features Enio DiReto on drums, Ryan Mahoney on guitar, Andrew Jacob on trumpet, Cedric McQuade on saxophone, Jim Perry on percussion and Jason Dawes on vocals.

"On Live On Planet Bop you can find several funky live tracks, which Raso recorded live with his band. It is a pleasure to hear these songs. You can feel the good mood of the band and the audience in the live club. You can also find some long solo passages from the Spector fan Raso. The cd also contains songs recorded and produced in the studio which continue and develop in the line of The Bassman Cometh."

THE BASSMAN COMETH (2001)
Produced and Performed by Jason Raso

Jason's debut is a funk-filled adventure. The Bassman Cometh tells the story of Bassman (a bass wielding superhero) and his arch enemy The Anti-Groove.  Bassman features nine original compositions.

"It takes some imagination and chops to carry an album that features only bass guitar. Jason Raso has enough of both to keep the listener's attention on the appropriately named The Bassman Cometh. While students of the instrument will no doubt find the most to like about Raso's debut, anyone easily drawn to a slippery groove will find The Bassman Cometh to their liking."
